The 2024 college football season enters Week 4 with the South Alabama Jaguars facing the App State Mountaineers to kick off the action on Thursday.
Appalachian State University rebounded from a 66-20 loss to Clemson in Week 2 and secured a narrow 21-19 victory over East Carolina in Week 3. Senior quarterback Joey Aguilar led the way for the Mountaineers, completing 32 of 47 passes for a career-high 424 yards and two touchdowns.
South Alabama is heading into the game against App State with a lot of motivation. They secured their first win of the season against Northwestern State with a score of 87-10, which is a new school scoring record. This victory also marks the first win under the leadership of their new head coach, Major Applewhite. The standout performance of freshman quarterback Gio Lopez, who completed 15 of 19 attempts for 257 yards and an impressive four touchdowns, has set a high standard for the team. They hope to add another win to their record in Week 4.
