Oklahoma vs. Auburn: Predictions, odds and how to watch Saturday
This story has been updated with new information.
The Oklahoma Sooners will hit the road for their first SEC away game as they travel to take on the Auburn Tigers in Week 5. This game holds particular significance as it's the first time the Sooners are playing an SEC team on their home turf.
The Sooners suffered a tough 25-15 loss to Josh Heupel's Tennessee in Week 4. It was Oklahoma's first-ever SEC game, and they were held to 222 yards by the Vols. The weaknesses of the Sooners were on display, starting with quarterback Jackson Arnold, who struggled, completing only seven of 16 attempts for 54 yards. Michael Hawkins Jr. replaced Arnold in the second quarter and finished the game with 11 completions on 18 attempts for 132 yards and a touchdown and added 22 rushing yards. Hawkins Jr. will be the starting quarterback for the Sooners in their upcoming game against Auburn.
The Tigers are coming off a 24-14 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks in their SEC opener. Freshman quarterback Hank Brown had a tough time getting the offense going, completing seven of 13 attempts for 72 yards and throwing three interceptions. As a result, Payton Thorne came off the bench and finished the game with 13 completions on 22 attempts for 213 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
Quarterback struggles will be the main focus for Oklahoma and Auburn, but the determination to overcome these challenges and get back on track in Week 4 sets the stage for a must-watch game.

ESPN: Sooners have a 57% chance to beat Auburn
According to ESPN's Matchup Predictor, the Oklahoma Sooners have a 57.2% chance to beat the Auburn Tigers in Week 5.
Sports Illustrated: Oklahoma
James Parks writes: "The implied score forecasts a close win for the Sooners. When considering the point spread and total, it’s implied that Oklahoma will defeat Auburn by a projected score of 26 to 23, covering the spread and hitting the over."
College Football Network: Oklahoma 24, Auburn 18
James Fragoza writes: "However, prediction-wise, I expect Oklahoma to rebound against a floundering Auburn team, winning straight up and covering the measly 1.5-point spread with relative ease. But I’d stay away from the total due to the QB issues on both sidelines."
Pickdawgz: Oklahoma Sooners
Andrew Jett writes: "I’ll go with Oklahoma here but you could make a case either way as both teams are coming off rough offensive performances. The Sooners logged just 222 total yards (186 passing), 3.3 yards per play, 16 first downs and three turnovers against a good Tennessee team. Oklahoma didn’t play too badly on defense (345 yards allowed) but also benefitted from 10 Vols penalties. As for Auburn, they ended up with 431 total yards (285 passing) but also had five turnovers and went a tepid 5-of-11 on third-down tries. Auburn has scored 14 points apiece in two of their four games, and a combined 118 in the other pair. It won’t be easy to score on the Sooners though."
