Following a statement win to open the 2024 college football season, Lincoln Riley and USC football have hit a lull over the last month.
The Trojans (3-4, 1-4 Big Ten) have lost four of their last five games after opening the season with a 27-20 victory over the LSU. USC will seek to get back on track and end a three-game losing streak when it hosts Rutgers at 11 p.m. ET on Friday from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
USC is coming off a 29-28 road loss to Maryland last week that dropped the Trojans to 22-12 midway through Year 3 under Riley. The Terrapins defeated the Trojans by scoring 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. USC also lost 24-17 to Minnesota, 33-30 in overtime to No. 3 Penn State and 27-24 to Michigan on a last-minute touchdown.

Rutgers also enters the contest on a three-game losing streak, falling 35-32 last week to UCLA. The Scarlet Knights opened the season with four consecutive wins but have been outscored 91-46 in the three losses.
