Week 10 of the 2024 college football season has concluded with movement in the Heisman Trophy race.

With several quarterbacks among the top contenders for college football’s most prestigious award, Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty remain the only skilled position players in the conversation in the BetMGM odds.

Cam Ward (Miami), Dillon Gabriel (Oregon) and Jackson Dart (Mississippi) continue to lead the way for the quarterbacks.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was previously the favorite near the conclusion of Week 5 but is currently ninth.

Heisman favorites: Travis Hunter, Cam Ward share lead

Hunter (+175) took the lead in the Heisman race on Saturday night from Ward despite being on a bye week.

Last week, Hunter was named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Colorado's 34-23 victory over Cincinnati. He had nine catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns.

He became the first player in the conference's history to win offensive and defensive weekly honors after being named Defensive Player of the Week in September.

Ward (+200) lost the lead despite Miami's 53-31 victory over Duke.

Ward completed 25 of his 41 passes for 400 yards, five touchdowns and an interception. He was second in the nation with 24 passing touchdowns and 2,746 passing yards entering the weekend. He's expected to enter Week 11 as the nation's leader in both categories after quarterback Chandler Morris and North Texas were on a bye week.

Who else is near the top of the Heisman rankings?

Gabriel and Jeanty help round out the top four contenders.

Gabriel and No. 1 Oregon are coming off a 38-17 victory against Michigan. In his latest performance, Gabriel completed 22 of 34 passes for 294 yards and a touchdown through the air. He also contributed to the rushing attack with three carries for 23 yards and a touchdown.

Jeanty entered Week 10 leading the nation with 20 rushing touchdowns and 1,525 rushing yards. He added to those totals with 149 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries in the 56-24 victory over San Diego State on Friday.

Kurtis Rourke is a player to watch

Indiana quarter Kurtis Rourke (+3000) entered Week 10 outside the Top 12 favorites for the trophy but jumped up to sixth Saturday evening.

Rourke led the Hoosiers to a 47-10 victory at Michigan State to improve to 9-0 overall this season.

Rourke suffered a thumb injury against Nebraska on Oct. 19 before having surgery on Oct. 21. He did not play last week against Washington.

The 2022 MAC Offensive Player of the Year has completed 135 of his 181 pass attempts for 1,941 yards and 15 touchdowns this season. He has thrown three interceptions.
