The 13-member selection committee for the College Football Playoff plays a crucial role in the ranking process. As of now, the odds are in favor of the Ohio State Buckeyes at +300, despite their one loss so far this season. The undefeated Oregon Ducks, led by Heisman hopeful Dillon Gabriel, is a close second in the race for the national title at +350.

How many teams in College Football Playoff 2024? 

In the 2024-25 season, 12 teams will qualify for the new College Football Playoff format, a significant change from the four teams selected for the playoff field over the past decade.

How does College Football Playoff format work? 

The new 12-team College Football Playoff will feature five conference champions, with the top four automatically securing the top four bids. The highest-ranked four teams will receive a first-round bye and will advance directly to the quarterfinals. The remaining eight ranked teams will compete for spots in the 5-12 bracket and will play their games on the home field of the higher-ranked team.
