By the end of the night Saturday, one of four college football players will see their name permanently etched alongside some of the most celebrated figures in the history of the sport.

With the 2024 regular season over and the College Football Playoff field set, the Heisman Trophy will be handed out this weekend during a ceremony in New York.

The most prestigious and hallowed individual award in college football will be handed out to one of the four finalists whose contributions and on-field excellence have helped define the 2024 season — Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel and Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

Given the award’s history and mythology, the presentation of the award is often one of the most anticipated events of the college football calendar, when weeks and even months of debate over who should win finally come to an end with one player hoisting the stiff-arming trophy.
