With a 21-7 win in the Mountain West championship game vs. UNLV, Boise State secured the No. 3 seed in the CFP and a first-round bye. At 12-1 overall on the season, the Broncos are having their best season since going 14-0 in 2009.
Star running back Ashton Jeanty, who finished second in the Heisman Trophy voting, enters next Tuesday's CFP quarterfinal game 134 rushing yards away from tying Barry Sanders' single-season rushing record.

Does Boise State football play today?
No, Boise State does not play today; Spencer Danielson's squad received a top-four seed and a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff.
The Broncos' Mountain West championship win against UNLV helped lock Boise State into the No. 3 seed of the 12-team playoff (as did Clemson's upset win over SMU in the ACC championship game, as that win put Arizona State into the No. 4 seed). Boise State is only behind No. 1 Oregon and No. 2 Georgia in the CFP bracket.
The Broncos' first game in the College Football Playoff will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. ET in the Fiesta Bowl. There, it will bring an 11-game winning streak vs. either of No. 6 Penn State or No. 11 SMU, who play in the first round of the CFP.
