Kicking off Day 2 of the first round of the College Football Playoff is a White Out in Happy Valley, as No. 11 seed SMU visits No. 6 seed Penn State

It's a game in which the Nittany Lions can quiet the outside noise of not being able to win a big game under James Franklin. Penn State (11-2 overall) and No. 11 seed SMU (11-2) will kick off at noon ET inside Beaver Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 21 — the lone Big Ten vs. ACC matchup on the CFP first-round slate.

Both teams are coming off a loss in their respective conference championship games, with Penn State losing 45-37 to top-seeded Oregon and SMU losing 34-31 to No. 12 seed Clemson on a walk-off field goal.

One intriguing storyline in Saturday's CFP matchup between the Nittany Lions and the Mustangs is how SMU will handle the cold. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 20s to low 30s Saturday at Beaver Stadium, with a chance of snow.

The winner of Saturday's first-round game advance to play No. 3 seed Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Eve in Glendale, Arizona.

With that, here's what you need to know about who is on the call for Saturday's CFP first-round matchup between Penn State and SMU on TNT:
