Texas football will look to get back on track in the first round of the College Football Playoff after losing in the SEC championship game.

And it comes at home against the team that created the chaos on for college football's selection Sunday: Clemson.

The fifth-seeded Longhorns (11-2) and 12th-seeded Tigers (10-3) will meet up at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday inside DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in the first round of the CFP.

Texas, who has never played Clemson prior to Saturday's day, will look to quarterback Quinn Ewers to extend its season past the first round after missing out on the CFP national championship game last season by one game.

Saturday's CFP game is also a homecoming for Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik, who played at Westlake High School and committed to the Tigers over the Longhorns.
