No. 10 Louisville dominating No. 2 Florida State
In a top-10 clash Saturday in ACC action, Louisville made a significant statement in the first half, leading 35-10 at the break and building that cushion in dominating fashion.
Because FSU has a penchant for second-half comebacks (the Seminoles have won eight consecutive regular-season games when trailing at halftime), ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit said of the Cardinals before the final drive of the first half, "they don't want to take their foot off the gas here."

They didn't.
Star dual-threat quarterback Lamar Jackson, a leading Heisman candidate, was particularly impressive, punctuating the Cardinals first half drubbing with a rushing touchdown on the final first half drive. Jackson accounted for four scores — three on the ground and one through the air, finishing the first half with 180 yards passing and 94 yards rushing. As a team, Louisville was averaging nearly 8 yards per carry against FSU's defense.
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher attributed much of the score to the Seminoles' sloppy play — namely quarterback Deondre Francois, who was sacked for a 12-yard loss before the half and had a crucial fumble on Louisville's 23-yard line earlier in the half on a drive that could have kept the Cardinals close to shift the momentum.
"That's ball," Fisher said at halftime. "We lost our poise a little bit. We've gotta regroup and put up some points up in the second half."
