Louisville wins, but Lamar Jackson delivers only modest numbers
The Demon Deacons bedeviled Lamar Jackson. And the Heisman race might be opening up again.
The runaway Heisman Trophy favorite found tough going in the first half on Saturday at home against Wake Forest, before the Cardinals pulled away to win 44-12.
Jackson, who entered the game with 45 total touchdowns (26 passing, 19 rushing) and 3,934 yards (2,753 passing and 1,181 rushing) managed only one TD pass and none on the ground. He ended up with 153 yards on 22 carries and 145 yards on 14-for-26 passing.
Louisville (9-1, 7-1), which has has scored 50 points or more six times this season, almost got to 50 after tallying but three first-half points.
