Live stream: Clemson Tigers visit President Trump at White House to celebrate national championship
Two White House visits in three years.
The Clemson football team will be making its second visit Monday night with President Donald Trump at the White House to celebrate a national championship under coach Dabo Swinney.
The Tigers won their second title in three years, beating Alabama 44-16 on Jan. 7 in the fourth meeting in as many years between the two college football powers.
The ceremony at the the White House starts at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET.
President Trump has received some criticism for inviting Clemson to the White House in the midst of a partial U.S. government shutdown, which reached its 24th day on Monday, the longest shutdown in U.S. history.
Clemson last visited the White House in June 2017 after beating Alabama 35-31 earlier that year to win the national championship.
