Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not accompany the team to Friday's Sugar Bowl, the school announced Wednesday afternoon.

The team departed Wednesday for New Orleans, where the No. 2-ranked Tigers will play No. 3 Ohio State at 8 p.m. ET in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

Elliott has been a member of coach Dabo Swinney’s staff since 2011 as running backs coach. He was promoted to co-offensive coordinator along with Jeff Scott prior to the Russell Athletic Bowl in 2014 and has remained in that position since. When Scott left prior to the current season to take the head coaching position at South Florida, Elliott singularly assumed offensive coordinator duties.

Clemson’s current streak of 10 consecutive seasons with 10 or more victories began when Elliott joined the staff; the Tigers are 121-17 since Elliott came aboard.
