Baylor ordered to release Pepper Hamilton sexual assault evidence by judge

A federal judge ruled Friday that Baylor must turn over evidence an outside law firm used for a report that found former head football coach Art Briles and others at school fostered a “culture of sexual violence.”

The order issued by U.S. District Court Judge Robert Pitman called on Baylor to produce “interview recordings, notes and summaries” that the investigators for the firm Pepper Hamilton had access to before the report released last year led to the firing of Briles, the demotion and eventual firing of school president Ken Starr among others.

The ruling was the latest turn in the Title IX lawsuit filed last year, originally by three women, who claimed they endured sexual abuse and the sexual harassment at the school.
