TCU athletic director Chris Del Conte will be moving into the same role at Texas, Del Conte acknowledged in a statement Saturday.
Del Conte would replace Mike Perrin, who has served on an interim basis since September 2015, when Steve Patterson was fired. Del Conte has been TCU’s athletic director since 2009, overseeing a period in which the school returned to Power Five status by joining the Big 12, and in which its football program under coach Gary Patterson played won a Rose Bowl and won a Big 12 co-championship.
The baseball team has become a regular participant in the College World Series.
