University of Oklahoma to unveil Baker Mayfield statue during spring game

NORMAN, Okla. — Baker Mayfield's statue is about to come to the University of Oklahoma campus.

The Sooners' sixth of seven Heisman Trophy winners will have his statue revealed during the spring game on April 18. The statue will be unveiled inside Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

Mayfield's statue will then join OU's Heisman Park where the statues of the Sooners' other Heisman winners sit.

Mayfield's statue was included in the University of Oklahoma's purchase report as part of the OU Board of Regents' March Agenda. OU paid Hanlon Sculpture Studio $89,250 for the statue. OU also paid Hanlon Sculpture Studio the same amount for Kyler Murray's Heisman statue, according to the regents' agenda.

The Sooners' spring game is set to kickoff at 5 p.m. on April 18. OU will release more details in the future.
