Iowa State vs. Arizona State: Predictions, odds, how to watch Big 12 championship game

The Big 12 has undoubtedly been the most unpredictable power conference in college football this year. Colorado, BYU, Baylor, TCU, all of these schools wound up within one game of the two teams competing for the conference championship this Saturday: the Arizona State Sun Devils and Iowa State Cyclones.
The Cyclones just wrapped up their first 10-win season in program history, but the party hasn't started just yet. The winner of this game will earn a spot in the new, expanded 12-team College Football Playoff. The Cyclones would certainly love that honor. It would serve as a great send-off to an unforgettable season. However, their path is blocked by a very hot Arizona State team, which has won five games in a row.
While Arizona State is coming off a 49-7 thrashing of rival Arizona, the Sun Devils' other four wins haven't been as impressive. It took everything they had to defeat BYU at home, and two weeks earlier, they almost lost to UCF at home. Obviously, the only thing that matters is the win-loss column, but there are certainly some cracks that Iowa State could exploit.
Here's everything to know for the 2024 Big 12 championship:
2024 Big 12 Championship: Iowa State vs. Arizona State predictions
Owain Jones, College Football Network: Arizona State 27, Iowa State 24
Jones writes, "This game is expected to be closely contested. Arizona State has shown that it can perform under pressure, especially in the fourth quarter. The Sun Devils have a record of 6-1 in games decided by one score, and they could very well showcase their ability to come through again on Saturday afternoon."
Reed Wallach, Sports Illustrated: Arizona State to win
Wallach writes, "The Sun Devils may be without their leading receiver, Jordyn Tyson, who suffered a shoulder injury against Arizona." He continues, "However, the Sun Devils' ability to run may make for a good setup for Sam Leavitt and the team's passing offense that is top-30 in EPA/pass. [Iowa State's passing attack] is not consistent enough down-to-down to keep up with the Sun Devils."
Adam Burk, VSiN: Arizona State (-2)
Burke writes, "I think both offenses have the chance to make a little noise here. I like the Over 51 and also Arizona State. Iowa State only has 15 sacks this season and Arizona State comes in 15th in third-down conversion rate. I don’t think the Cyclones will get the Sun Devils off-schedule all that often."
Bryan Logan, ClutchPoints: Arizona State (-2.5)
Logan writes, "The weakest unit on the field defensively is the Iowa State run defense. Arizona State is 21st in the nation in running yards per game, while sitting 13th in the percentage of plays that are runs. Further, they are 10th in the nation in turnover margin this year. Iowa State has been solid this year in turnovers as well. They are 16th in the nation in turnover margin this year. Cam Skattebo has been over 140 yards rushing in three of the last four games, and he will be the difference in this one."
