Connor Cook: I did not mean to snub Archie Griffin
Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook clarified late Saturday night that he did not intentionally brush off Archie Griffin, the two-time Heisman trophy winner from Ohio State, during the Big Ten Championship trophy presentation in Indianapolis.
Cook stepped to the microphone held by Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt, grabbed the MVP trophy and Griffin’s hand but appeared to ignore congratulations.
Cook later tried to explain what happened and make clear he did not intend to dismiss Griffin in the moment.
Michigan State defeated previously unbeaten Iowa 16-13 to win the conference championship and likely clinch a College Football Playoff berth.
