Nebraska WRs coach Keith Williams arrested for DUI

Keith Williams, who is entering his second season as Nebraska’s wide receivers coach, was ticketed for DUI Sunday morning after a crash involving two cars, the Lincoln Journal-Star reported.

Williams who has prior convictions, the Journal-Star said, has coached wide receivers at a variety of schools over the past 16 years. According to the Omaha World-Herald, Williams twice previously has been cited for DUI and remains in jail with a court hearing scheduled Monday.

Nebraska released a statement about the matter that read, “The Nebraska Athletics Department is aware of the incident involving Assistant Coach Keith Williams. We will continue to gather additional information and will withhold further comment at this time."

Last season players coached by Williams combined for more than 200 receptions, nearly 2,800 yards and 23 touchdown receptions and helped Nebraska to its greatest passing yardage total since 2008.
