Urban Meyer picks up the phone in postgame news conference; his wife called

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Less than an hour had passed since his second-ranked Buckeyes picked up their biggest win of the season — and one of the most thrilling victories of an already historic rivalry — and Urban Meyer noticed his phone ringing.

He was about to begin his postgame news conference, but he saw who was calling: His wife.

So he picked up.

“She said to bring a gallon of milk home,” Meyer said.

Makes sense. It probably goes well with a 30-27 double-overtime victory that may have clinched the Buckeyes’ spot in the College Football Playoff.
