Frisco Bowl 2024: Memphis vs. West Virginia predictions, odds, how to watch

On paper, this year's Frisco Bowl looks very one-sided.
The Memphis Tigers had a strong season, going 10-2, and ending the regular season as a ranked team. The No. 23 ranked Tigers are also expected to have most of their seniors participating in the game on Tuesday.
Their opponents will be the West Virginia Mountaineers, who barely clawed to .500 and fired their head coach Neal Brown after six seasons. They'll instead be trotting into the Frisco Bowl with interim head coach Chad Scott. With all the turnover expected to happen in West Virginia's program, do the Mountaineers have any hope of winning? Of course they do.
Despite their record, the Mountaineers played a much tougher schedule, and their quarterback, Garrett Greene, dealt with injuries for most of the season. If he plays in the contest and gets going on the ground, then West Virginia becomes a potent offensive force that will be difficult for Memphis to overcome.
Here's everything to know about this year's Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl.

Staff writes: "The Tigers have few players in the portal, and not many who would sit out this game. So they will have a full roster after just beating Tulane on Thanksgiving and having won 10 games. This set up has been a typical postseason for Memphis, which has dominated bowl games in its last three appearances. The Tigers had a 25-10 win over Florida Atlantic in 2022, a 38-10 win over Utah State in 2022, and then last season, a huge win over Iowa State by a score of 36-26. We know what we are getting from Ryan Silverfield’s squad in its bowl game."
College Football Network: Memphis 31, West Virginia 26
James Fragoza writes: "Starter Garrett Greene exited the regular-season finale against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the first quarter with a shoulder injury. Backup Nicco Marchiol has looked solid in his stead — actually, even better as a passer — but draws a defense 25 in success rate, 10th in rushing yards allowed (103.9 ypg), and tied for ninth in turnovers forced (24).Meanwhile, Henigan faces a West Virginia unit ranked 128th in net points per drive, 127th in dropback success rate, and 104th in EPA per dropback."
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Memphis 29, West Virginia 27
Bender writes, "West Virginia fired Neal Brown, and interim coach will lead the Mountaineers into the Frisco Bowl. Garrett Greene struggled with interceptions this season, and if he plays in this bowl game it could turn into a high-scoring affair. Seth Henigan (3,208 yards, 23 TDs) and Mario Anderson (1,292 yards, 17 TDs) are a dynamic tandem for the Tigers."
Clutch Sports: Memphis
Nate Duffett writes: "Memphis' explosive offense should be too much for West Virginia in this game. We mentioned that when the Mountaineers lost, they lost big, which could be bad news when facing the Tigers' offense. Take Memphis to blow this game open with their passing game and hold on for a convincing victory, which they have been doing all season."
