The Penn State Nittany Lions will play the Boise State Broncos in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, a College Football Playoff quarterfinal game.
The Nittany Lions earned a 38-10 victory over SMU at home in the first round. Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton make up the Nittany Lions' backfield tandem, which managed to produce all of the offensive scoring on Saturday. Allen had 11 carries for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Singleton had 14 carries for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Running back Ashton Jeanty and the Broncos haven't played since clinching the Mountain West Championship. For being one of the four highest-ranked conference champions, the Broncos earned a first-round bye. Jeanty has 344 carries for 2,497 yards and 29 touchdowns in 13 games this season. He contributed as a pass catcher with 116 receiving yards and a touchdown on 20 receptions.
