There's nothing like an in-state rivalry matchup to determine the winner of a conference in college football.

That's what the Mid-American Conference matchup between Miami (Ohio) and Ohio will be, as the teams square off at noon Saturday from Ford Field in Detroit. The conference championship game will be the 101st time the teams have squared off, with the RedHawks leading the all-time series 56-42-2. It marks the second meeting of the rivalry season, which is named the "Battle of the Bricks."

Saturday will be the first time the teams square off in a conference championship game.

The RedHawks earned a 30-20 victory over the Bobcats on Oct. 19 earlier this season. Miami led by as much as 30-6 entering the fourth quarter, but Ohio scored twice to make the final score closer than much of the game was.

The win for Miami was the second of a current seven-game winning streak the team is riding following a 1-4 start to the season. Meanwhile, the Bobcats bounced back from the loss to their rival to win their final five games of the season.
