UNLV senior running back Darran Williams was hospitalized Tuesday after suffering a heart attack during a morning workout.
Williams is stable, but doctors are going to induce him in a coma for 72 hours before testing to figure out why the heart attack occurred, according to a Facebook post from his father Keith Williams.
Darran Williams played five games for the Rebels in 2019, rushing for 79 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. He also caught two passes for 11 yards.
Before transferring UNLV last season, Williams played at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, where he rushed for 1,427 yards and 15 touchdowns and earned junior college All-America honors in 2018.
