Finally, some clarity at top of NCAA 1-128 Re-rank

There are now just six unbeaten teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision: Clemson, Baylor, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Iowa and Houston. Because Baylor and Oklahoma State meet on Nov. 21 and the Buckeyes and Hawkeyes may face each other in the Big Ten Conference title game, there will be at most four undefeated teams left standing at the end of the regular season, and just three on the Power Five level.
Clarity is coming to both the FBS and the Paste BN Sports 1-128 Re-rank, the latter of which finally — after weeks and weeks of turmoil and confusion — seems to make a small amount of sense.
Clemson is the new No. 1 after beating Florida State. Baylor moves back to No. 2 after struggling with Kansas State. Ohio State is No. 3, followed by Alabama, Oklahoma State and Notre Dame. Through two months and one week of results, this group represents the best of the best in college football.
And what about Iowa? The No. 9 Hawkeyes still need a marquee win, which may prove elusive until a likely matchup with Ohio State in early December. And Houston? The Cougars will have opportunities to impress down the stretch. Memphis and Navy come in November, and a potential date against Temple awaits should the Cougars win the American Athletic Conference West Division.
New to the top 25: Navy and Southern California.
Out of the top 25: Mississippi and Toledo.
