Alabama football landed a five-star commitment from an Auburn legacy during Saturday's showdown against Texas A&M.

Saraland five-star receiver Ryan Williams committed to Alabama on Saturday night, becoming the first 2025 commit for the Crimson Tide. His dad, also named Ryan Williams, played for Auburn.

Alabama made an offer to Williams, the No. 25 recruit in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite, after he attended camp in June with the Crimson Tide. Auburn made an offer to Williams in September.

Williams posted to Twitter in September his midseason stats through five games of his sophomore season: 850 all-purpose yards and 16 touchdowns.

Williams placed fourth in the 200-meter dash at the AHSAA 6A state track and field championships to end his freshman season.

Alabama's No. 1-ranked 2023 class features five five-star commits — in-state prospects. Like the class of 2023, the in-state 2025 high school football class is loaded with top recruits.

Williams is one of just five 2025 five-star recruits in Alabama: Spain Park's Jared Smith, Thompson's Anquon Fegans, Charles Henderson's Zion Grady and Southside Selma's Derick Smith.
