Kentucky coach Mark Stoops names Patrick Towles starting QB

Kentucky football coach Mark Stoops announced via Twitter on Monday morning that Patrick Towles will be the starting quarterback for the Wildcats this season.

"This competition has brought out the best in our quarterbacks and I'm confident in Patrick moving our team forward," Stoops wrote on Twitter.

Towles is a 6-foot-5, 238-pound redshirt sophomore from Fort Thomas Highlands. He redshirted last season after playing in five games as a true freshman, where he threw for 233 yards and a touchdown.
