Four Missouri football players involved in car accident
Prized Missouri freshman Terry Beckner and three teammates were involved in a car accident near the university campus Friday afternoon and taken to University of Missouri Hospital as a precautionary measure, according to the Columbia Daily Tribune.
Beckner is a backup defensive tackle who has made four tackles in his first two games. Also in the car were redshirt freshman wide receivers DeSean Blair and Keyon Dilosa and redshirt freshman Trevon Walters, who has not played while rehabilitating a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The Tribune reported that they were each treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Their status for Saturday’s game vs. Connecticut was uncertain, Missouri spokesman Chad Moller told the Tribune. Missouri, ranked No. 22 in the Amway Coaches Poll, hosts the Huskies at noon Saturday on ESPN.
Tigers head coach Gary Pinkel arrived later to survey the scene. Missouri lost one of its best players for the season this summer when junior defensive tackle Harold Brantley was severely injured in a June 21 car accident.
