LSU QB Joe Burrow throws pass to himself on opening drive of SEC Championship Game

The game log reads: "Joe Burrow pass complete to Joe Burrow for 16 yards."
It's not a typo, because that's how it went down. The LSU Tigers quarterback actually completed a pass to himself and scampered for 16 yards and a first down against the Georgia Bulldogs on the Tigers' opening drive of the Southeastern Conference Championship Game.
On Burrow's second dropback, he faced a Georgia blitz and threw a pass over the middle that a Georgia defensive lineman batted down — right back into Burrow's hands. With a clear running lane up the left side, the Heisman Trophy frontrunner took off for a positive gain.
Burrow kept the Tigers rolling from there. He connected with Terrance Marshall Jr. for a 24-yard gain and then, given all day to throw by his offensive line, pointed Ja'Marr Chase to an open spot in the end zone for a 23-yard pass that gave LSU a 7-0 lead.
