Kennesaw State women's basketball player Kamiyah Street charged with three counts of murder
Kennesaw State women's basketball player Kamiyah Street was charged with three counts of felony murder last week, according to Fulton County (Georgia) Jail records.
According to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Street turned herself in Nov. 21 on eight counts total, including criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Street is being charged for her alleged role in a July 16 shooting death of a 21-year-old man whose body was discovered in an apartment complex parking deck shortly after the crime. Four other people were charged along with Street.
Atlanta Police Department investigative spokesman James White told reporters that the homicide investigation is still ongoing but noted that police determined the man was the "victim of a targeted shooting."
Street remained in Fulton County Jail on bond as of Monday afternoon, according to online records.
Kennesaw State assistant athletic director David Beall told The Atlanta Journal Constitution that Street was suspended indefinitely. The 20-year-old junior guard was averaging 21 points through four games in the 2019-20 season. The Owls are 4-1 on the year.
