South Carolina still unanimous No. 1 in Paste BN Sports women's college basketball poll
South Carolina retains the No. 1 ranking in the Paste BN Sports women’s basketball coaches poll for the fifth consecutive week, avoiding the volatility at the top of the men’s side of the sport.
The Gamecocks remain the unanimous No. 1 choice after staving off a challenge from Maryland on Sunday. North Carolina State, still unbeaten since a season-opening setback against the Gamecocks, move up to No. 2. Stanford is No. 3, followed by Louisville and Baylor.
Connecticut slips four spots to No. 6, as the Huskies lost to Georgia Tech in their first game without star Paige Bueckers. Indiana checks in at No. 7, and unbeaten Arizona climbs a couple of notches to No. 8. Tennessee is No. 9 with a big home date against Stanford on deck. Maryland slips three spots but stays in the top 10.

Georgia Tech joins the poll at No. 21 thanks to that UConn win. Fellow ACC member Duke also moves in at No. 25. The Blue Devils’ stay could be short, however, with South Carolina up next.
It was a rough week for the Pac-12 as Oregon State and UCLA slide out of the rankings.
