South Carolina keeps No. 1 spot in Paste BN Sports women's basketball poll entering tournament

South Carolina holds the No. 1 ranking in the Paste BN Sports women’s basketball coaches poll, as it has all season, entering the NCAA tournament.
The Gamecocks, named the overall No. 1 tournament seed by the committee when the bracket was unveiled Sunday, received 27 of 31 first-place votes this week. The remaining four first-place nods went to No. 2 and defending national champion Stanford.
North Carolina State stays put at No. 3. Louisville climbs to No. 4 ahead of Baylor after the Bears came up short in the Big 12 tournament final against Texas. The Longhorns improved two positions to check in at No. 7. Connecticut hangs on at No. 6. Iowa State, LSU and Iowa round out the top 10

With most ranked teams having completed their regular seasons and conference tournaments the week before, there was little change in the voting order throughout the rest of the poll. BYU was upended by Gonzaga in the West Coast Conference tourney final but was demoted only one spot in the poll to No. 14.
No new teams cracked the top 25 heading into March Madness.
