The Duke-North Carolina women's basketball rivalry is coming to the 2025 women's NCAA Tournament.
The No. 2 seeded Blue Devils (28-7) will face the No. 3 Tar Heels (29-7) at 2:30 p.m. ET during the Sweet 16 at the BJCC's Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. This will be the 15th time the teams have faced off in the postseason, but the first time in the NCAA Tournament.

Duke overcame a first-half deficit to beat No. 10 Oregon 59-53 in the second round. Ashlon Jackson hit five 3-pointers and had 20 points in the comeback victory. North Carolina is coming off a 58-47 win over No. 6 West Virginia on Monday in the second round behind a 21-point performance from Alyssa Ustby.
The Blue Devils are 8-6 against the Tar Heels in the postseason, with all 14 of the previous matchups coming in the women's ACC tournament. The two teams split their season series this year, with UNC defeating Duke 53-46 in overtime on Jan. 9 and the Blue Devils earning a 68-53 win on Feb. 27.
