The women's NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 concludes Saturday night, with Region 4 No. 1 seed USC taking on fifth-seeded Kansas State.

The Trojans (30-3) are playing in their first game since star guard JuJu Watkins suffered a season-ending knee injury in Monday's 96-59 win over Mississippi State. It's a potentially devastating blow to USC's national title hopes, but head coach Lindsay Gottlieb's team responded. Center Kiki Iriafen stepped up with 36 points, while guard Avery Howell chipped in 18 points off the bench.

Kansas State (28-7) had no trouble in the first round, beating Fairfield by 44 points. However, the second round was anything but easy. In a battle between teams named the Wildcats, overtime was required for head coach Jeff Mittie's team to see offNo. 4 seed Kentucky in an 80-79 thriller. Temira Poindexter led the way, combining 24 points with six blocks.
