What channel is UConn-Creighton today? Time, TV schedule to watch women's basketball game

As March approaches, the UConn women’s basketball program is in a familiar position, with a gaudy record and national title aspirations.

Before the Huskies can get to those larger goals, though, there’s another benchmark in front of them: a Big East regular-season conference championship, something they’ve achieved in each of the past four seasons since rejoining the league.

On Thursday, guard Paige Bueckers, coach Geno Auriemma and No. 5 UConn can secure that distinction with a matchup against No. 21 Creighton.

With two games remaining in the regular season, the Huskies are 16-0 in conference play, with the Bluejays, at 15-1, the only team within five games of them — meaning a win would clinch the Big East regular-season crown for Auriemma’s team. In their first meeting this season, UConn defeated Creighton 72-61 on Jan. 25 in Omaha, Nebraska.

As has been the case from the moment she stepped on the court for her first college game, Bueckers has been one of the best players in the country. The former national player of the year and two-time first-team all-American is averaging 18.7 points, 4.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game while shooting 53.3% from the field and 41% from 3-point range.

Along with teammates Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd, she has helped the Huskies rack up a 26-3 record and 16 victories in their past 17 games. That run was recently highlighted by an 87-58 thumping of then-No. 4 South Carolina on Feb. 16, snapping the Gamecocks’ 71-game home win streak.

Prediction: UConn 81, Creighton 65

The Huskies had little trouble with the Bluejays in their first meeting, leading by 20 early in the fourth quarter. Given how well UConn’s playing and the accomplishment that’s within its reach, there’s little reason to think the rematch will go much differently, especially since it’s at home.
