Jovan Belcher's mother declines interview request

Cheryl Shepherd, the mother of late Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, declined to be interviewed when reached by Paste BN Sports' Jim Corbett on Sunday.

"Excuse me, right now is the not the time," she said. "I wish not to talk to anybody. I apologize. I'm not being rude. But I cannot talk right now."

Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, Saturday morning, then drove to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and shot himself.
