Line: Broncos by 6½

Story lines: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has rushed for 260 yards over the past two weeks. Denver ranks sixth in rushing defense. … The debate rages around Broncos QB Peyton Manning, yet all he does is help his undefeated team win with big plays at the most important times. He threw for a season-high 324 yards in Week 3 while working more from the pistol formation. … Matchup to watch: Broncos LB DeMarcus Ware vs. Vikings LT Matt Kalil and rookie RT T.J. Clemmings. Wherever Ware, the AFC defensive player of the month, lines up, he will be dangerous. In three games, he has 3½ sacks and 15 knockdowns or hurries.

TV: Sunday, 9:30 A.M. ET, CBS (Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts, Evan Washburn)

Line: Jets by 1½

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (1-2) AT INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (1-2)

TV: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS (Tom McCarthy, Adam Archuleta)

Line: Colts by 9

Story lines: The Colts are looking to get back to .500 with a 15th consecutive divisional win. The defense is finally forcing turnovers, and RB Frank Gore seemed to find rhythm last week. However QB Andrew Luck’s banged-up shoulder is a concern, and he is officially questionable to play for a team that has two games in a five-day span. … Jaguars LB Paul Posluszny racked up 18 tackles (14 solo) last week.

NEW YORK GIANTS (1-2) AT BUFFALO BILLS (2-1)

TV: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox (Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnson, Laura Okmin)

Line: Bills by 5½

Story lines: Lots of star power missing from this game with Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and WR Sammy Watkins (calf) and Giants WR Victor Cruz (calf) and DE Jason Pierre-Paul (hand) among the absentees. … Tyrod Taylor is the first Bills quarterback since Jim Kelly in 1991 to have three consecutive games with a completion rate above 70% and at least seven TD passes. … Giants QB Eli Manning has not been intercepted, the first time he’s begun a season without being picked through three games.

CAROLINA PANTHERS (3-0) AT TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (1-2)

TV: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox (Chris Myers, Ronde Barber, Jennifer Hale)

Line: Panthers by 3

Story lines: The last time Carolina started a season 3-0 (2003), the team ended up playing in Super Bowl XXXVIII. … Panthers QB Cam Newton is 2-7 when passes for 300 yards or more. … The Bucs are 0-9 at home under second-year coach Lovie Smith. … Bucs RB Doug Martin is in a contract year but struggling to find running room while posting fewer than 60 yards on the ground per game so far. ... Panthers MLB Luke Kuechly (concussion) is out a third straight game.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (1-2) AT WASHINGTON REDSKINS (1-2)

TV: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox (Kevin Burkhart, John Lynch, Pam Oliver)

Line: Eagles by 3

Story lines: This game could be affected by Hurricane Joaquin, though the NFL said Friday it does not anticipate having to move kickoff. … The Eagles strayed from coach Chip Kelly’s tendencies on the way to their first win last week. Instead of the hurry-up, fast-break offense, they were deliberate, ran fewer plays than their opponent and called 39 runs to 29 passes. … The Redskins ran only 20 times in Week 3 after entering their last game with the NFL’s No. 1 rush offense. … The Eagles allow a league-low 3.1 yards per carry. … Washington is minus-five in turnover differential. ... Eagles RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is a game-time decision, but Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (hamstring) is not ready to return.

OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-1) AT CHICAGO BEARS (0-3)

TV: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS (Greg Gumbel, Trent Green, Jamie Erdahl)

Line: Raiders by 3

Story lines: The Raiders’ 27-20 victory against the Cleveland Browns ended an 11-game road skid and pushed them above .500 for the first time since Week 3 of the 2011 season. … Oakland S Charles Woodson and Hall of Famer Darrell Green are the only players in NFL history with an interception in 18 consecutive seasons. … The Bears have been outscored 105-46. … Chicago’s kick coverage unit has allowed return TDs in consecutive weeks. ... Bears QB Jay Cutler and WR Alshon Jeffery are questionable to play.

HOUSTON TEXANS (1-2) AT ATLANTA FALCONS (3-0)

TV: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS (Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon)

Line: Falcons by 6½

Story lines: Houston might get RB Arian Foster back after a lengthy layoff from an injured groin muscle and subsequent surgery. A double dose of Foster and RB Alfred Blue might be just what the doctor ordered to keep the Texans in the divisional fray. … Texans OLB Jadeveon is still stuck on zero career sacks. … The last two times the Falcons opened a season 3-0, they reached the NFC title game. … Falcons WR Julio Jones is on pace to catch 181 passes for 2,347 yards and 21 TDs.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (1-2) AT CINCINNATI BENGALS (3-0)

TV: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS (Spero Dedes, Solomon Wilcots)

Line: Bengals by 4

Story lines: The Chiefs will have their hands full with the Cincinnati passing game, which includes WRs A.J. Green, Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu. Chiefs CB Sean Smith returns from a three-game suspension, but it’s not known if he’ll start instead of rookie Marcus Peters or Phillip Gaines. … Kansas City’s shuffled offensive line will be in a battle with Cincinnati’s deep defensive line. The Bengals had no sacks last week, but DE Carlos Dunlap had five tackles and DT Geno Atkins four with both contributing two tackles for loss.

CLEVELAND BROWNS (1-2) AT SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (1-2)

TV: Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS (Andrew Catalon, Steve Tasker, Steve Beuerlein)

Line: Chargers by 7½

Story lines: Chargers WR Keenan Allen is the clear favorite target of QB Philip Rivers with TE Antonio Gates still suspended. Browns CB Joe Haden has always been better against bigger receivers such as Allen, which may help him shake an early season slump. … WR Travis Benjamin has been the Browns’ most valuable player and it hasn’t been close. His 24.9 yards a catch leads the NFL, and he has five TDs (four receiving, one punt return). … Rivers has been sacked 10 times in three games, and many of his starting blockers are on the injury report.

GREEN BAY PACKERS (3-0) AT SAN FRANCISCO 49ers (1-2)

TV: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, Fox (Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Erin Andrews)

Line: Packers by 8

Story lines: Since his electric debut as the starter, 49ers RB Carlos Hyde has managed 3.3 yards per carry running behind a poor line. Packers LB Clay Matthews is coordinator Dom Capers’ most invaluable defender, selflessly trading in blitz opportunities in order to spend more time dropping in coverage and stuffing the run. … San Francisco has permitted 90 points over the past two weeks, the highest combined total allowed by the franchise in consecutive games since 1980. … In two postseason games vs. Green Bay, 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick has tallied 279 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.

ST. LOUIS RAMS (1-2) AT ARIZONA CARDINALS (3-0)

TV: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, Fox (Thom Brennaman, Charles Davis, Tony Siragusa)

Line: Cardinals by 7

Story lines: Dropped passes and a stagnant running game are the latest issues for a Rams offense that ranks last in the league. They’re hoping rookie RB Todd Gurley can do more damage in his second game. … Rams DE Robert Quinn already has three sacks and will be a handful for Arizona LT Jared Veldheer. Protection is vital for the Cardinals, who lost QB Carson Palmer against the Rams in Week 10 last season and backup Drew Stanton five weeks later.

DALLAS COWBOYS (2-1) AT NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (0-3)

TV: Sunday, 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC (Cris Collinsworth, Al Michaels, Michele Tafoya)

Line: Off

Story Lines: QB Drew Brees is expected to start for the Saints after missing last week with an injured throwing shoulder. The New Orleans defense is a mess, ranking near the bottom of the league in yards allowed. Only the Chicago Bears allow a higher passer rating than the Saints’ 119.6. … Cowboys RB Joseph Randle ripped off three runs of 20 or more yards as he raced for 92 yards and three touchdowns before halftime last week but had minus-5 yards the rest of the way. … Dallas’ Jason Witten could have a field day against a Saints defense that’s been burned by tight ends. ... RB Christine Michael may make his Dallas debut.

DETROIT LIONS (0-3) AT SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (1-2)

TV: Monday, 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN (Mike Tirico, Jon Gruden, Lisa Salters)

Line: Seahawks by 9½

Story lines: With RB Marshawn Lynch (hamstring) hurting and likely a game-time decision, the Seahawks’ offense too often has to rely on QB Russell Wilson to run around and make plays. TE Jimmy Graham and WR Doug Baldwin could get bigger roles this week. … Seahawks all-pro CB Richard Sherman has spent a good part of this season shifting to slot receiver in nickel situations, but he could spend most of Monday night going wherever Lions WR Calvin Johnson goes. Johnson’s size makes him a mismatch for most corners, but Sherman is big enough to measure up. … Lions WR Golden Tate returns to Seattle, where he began his career and played for the 2013 Super Bowl champions.
