Story lines: The Panthers are seeking their first 5-0 start since 2003, but their first four opponents have a collective five victories. … Carolina QB Cam Newton has gone 0-4 with a 75.7 passer rating in four meetings against Seattle. … The Panthers have already scored three defensive touchdowns and are expected to get MLB Luke Kuechly (concussion) back into the lineup. … The Seahawks are facing a 4-0 team for the second week in a row, but they could have RB Marshawn Lynch back after a hamstring injury benched him the past two weeks. He and MLB Bobby Wagner (pectoral) are officially questionable. … Seattle’s defense improved after S Kam Chancellor ended his holdout. With him in the lineup, Seattle is 5-0 while allowing 26 points (5.2 a game) over its last five home games. … Panthers CB Josh Norman has already returned two interceptions for touchdowns, and Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has been mistake-prone and on the run a lot behind an unsteady offensive line.

Both excel at stopping third-down conversions, ranking fourth (Jets, 32%) and fifth (Redskins, 33%) in that category. ...
