Joe Namath one of the stars of new Pro Football Hall of Fame theater to open in July

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is scheduled to debut an attraction in mid-July that features holographic depictions of legends George Halas, Vince Lombardi and Joe Namath.

The theater show, called A Game for Life, aims to give visitors the experience of being in an NFL locker room – albeit one reserved for Hall of Famers -- and is narrated by actor Dennis Haysbert.

Among the highlights will be the holographic image of Namath using a “magical chalkboard” where fellow Hall of Famers will tell their stories.

“The game of football is the perfect metaphor for the Game for Life,” Pro Football Hall of Fame President David Baker said in a statement. “This experience is produced by an incredibly talented team who present the values learned from the game and how they apply to all areas of life. We are thrilled to be able to provide this one-of-kind, inspiring experience to fans everywhere.”

Hall officials are expected to make the official announcement later Wednesday.

The project was produced by Immersive Artistry, an Los Angeles-based firm led by Cary Granat (producer of Chronicles of Narnia), Ed Jones (a two-time Academy Award winner for his work on Happy Feet and Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and Jack Giarraputo (co-founder of Happy Madison Productions with Adam Sandler).

The theater show will be included in the price admission to the museum.

The Game for Life was funded by a grant from The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation. Wilson, the late owner of the Buffalo Bills and one of the founders of the American Football League, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.
