Greg Hardy works out for Jaguars, but no deal imminent

The Jacksonville Jaguars aren't signing Greg Hardy after hosting him for a visit and workout on Wednesday and Thursday, at least not anytime soon.

The defensive end spent time with the team in the last two days, a person familiar with Hardy's plans told Paste BN Sports. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team had not publicly revealed the visit.

But another person familiar with the Jaguars' plans, speaking on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced its intentions, said Jacksonville did not plan to sign Hardy at this time.

Hardy, 27, played for the Dallas Cowboys last season but has not generated substantial interest as a free agent. He served a four-game suspension last year, stemming from a 2014 domestic violence incident involving his ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder. Hardy was initially convicted of assaulting a female and communicating threats, but the charges were later dropped after Holder did not appear at the appeal in front of a jury.

Upon returning from suspension, Hardy drew scrutiny for saying he wanted to come out "guns blazing" and making suggestive comments about New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's wife, Gisele Bundchen.

Hardy later engaged Cowboys special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia in a physical confrontation during a Week 7 loss to the New York Giants.

After Hardy finished the season with six sacks in 12 games, owner Jerry Jones said the team would not pursue re-signing him in the offseason.
