ESPN's Tom Jackson to retire from broadcasting after 29 years

Tom Jackson is set to retire after a 29-year broadcasting career at ESPN, the network announced Wednesday.

During his time with the company, Jackson had a major presence on programs such as NFL PrimeTime, Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown, as well as other major NFL events annually.

Jackson was a linebacker for the Denver Broncos for 14 years prior to his broadcasting career.

“I have been blessed in my adult life to work for two companies, the Denver Broncos and ESPN, to do two things that I love – play football and talk about football,” Jackson said.

Jackson’s final broadcast will be later this week at the Pro Football Hall of Fame weekend in Canton, Ohio.
