NFL Buzz: Gronkowski is officially out for second game; Packers CB Shields out
Check back for all the latest quick hits from around the NFL.
Gronkowski out
Rob Gronkowksi will miss Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. The team declared him inactive.
The Patriots TE injured his hamstring in August and also missed last week’s season opener against Arizona.
New England plays its home opener Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
Packers CB downgraded to out
Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields was downgraded to out of Sunday night's game at the Minnesota Vikings after being listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report.
The change is not surprising. Shields suffered his fifth concussion during the Packers season-opening win last week at the Jacksonville Jaguars. He left the game after tackling Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon on the Packers' final defensive series.
Without Shields, the Packers will have a young secondary against a Vikings passing game expected to start Sam Bradford at quarterback for the first time. The cornerback position will be led by a trio of second-year players: Damarious Randall, Quinten Rollins and LaDarius Gunter.
