Tuesday Buzz: Jerry Jones says no MRI yet for Dez Bryant

Check back throughout the day for all the latest quick hits from around the NFL:
No MRI yet for Bryant
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told KRLD-FM in Dallas that wide receiver Dez Bryant has not undergone an MRI on his knee, though he still could at some point.
"I'm assuming he's a go," Jones said of Bryant's availability Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
Bryant injured his knee in Sunday's 31-17 win over the Chicago Bears.
Redskins make change along line
An injury is forcing the Washington Redskins to make a change at center.
Kory Lichtensteiger (calf) is being placed on injured reserve and John Sullivan is signing a one-year deal, a person familiar with the moves told Paste BN Sports' Tom Pelissero. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the moves had yet to be announced.
Sullivan, 31, missed all of last year for the Minnesota Vikings with a back injury and was cut before this season.
Cook has high ankle sprain
GREEN BAY - Green Bay Packers tight end Jared Cook suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Detroit Lions, according to a source.
Cook left the game in the second quarter after his legs tangled with a defender on a pass route over the middle of the field. He remained down for a moment before rising to his feet and limping heavily as he hobbled off.
After the game, Cook was seen wearing a walking boot inside the Packers' locker room. He used crutches when he moved.
The severity of Cook's injury is unclear, but high ankle sprains often require significant recovery time. It falls under the same broad umbrella applied to wide receiver Ty Montgomery last season, and Montgomery never played after injuring his ankle in Week 6. Montgomery, it turned out, suffered cartilage and ligament damage and needed offseason surgery.

Eifert eyes return
Every day, Tyler Eifert gets closer to a return to the field for the Cincinnati Bengals and while the tight end maintained his wait-and-see approach with whether or not he plays Thursday night, he said he felt no soreness and had no setbacks after going through an entire week of practice last week.
On Tuesday, Eifert said his status Thursday will be determined by the coaches. At the end of last week, Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said he wouldn't anticipate Eifert being able to play a full game upon his return, and would be comfortable working Eifert in with limited snaps. Lewis reiterated that following practice on Tuesday.
“We’ve talked a little bit, just trying to feel it out, what would be the best thing for me and for the team, working me back in there and figuring out a game plan as far as that,” Eifert said. “There’s nothing been decided so far. You always end up coming to a conclusion and we’re going to be comfortable with whatever decision is made. It’s just kind of going through the game plan and seeing how I’m feeling and all those types of things to finally make the decision.”
