Monday NFL buzz: Could injury force QB change for Jets?

Check back here for all the latest quick-hit news from around the NFL:
Bills lose Wood
Coach Rex Ryan announced Monday night that Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl center Eric Wood broke his leg and will miss the remainder of the season.
Wood, a prime component of the Bills' formidable running game, was carted off the field after being injured against the Seattle Seahawks.
Fitzpatrick has sprained MCL
New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Jets coach Todd Bowles said Monday that Fitzpatrick was day-to-day and would be evaluated as the week went on before the team determined the starter for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Bowles said Sunday he would keep Fitzpatrick as the starter, but that was prior to Monday's MRI.
Fitzpatrick left Sunday's game in the third quarter after taking a low hit from defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, who earned a roughing the passer penalty. Bryce Petty stepped in, but Fitzpatrick returned at the end of the quarter.
Bowles said Petty would start if Fitzpatrick is unable to play against the Rams.
Bucs sign Huff to practice squad after WR's arrest
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed wide receiver Josh Huff, who was arrested last week on gun and marijuana charges, to their practice squad on Monday.
Huff was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of a 9 mm handgun without a permit in New Jersey. He was released by the Philadelphia Eagles two days later.
Richardson, Wilkerson benched for first quarter
When the New York Jets opened the game on defense Sunday, two notable names were missing from the field.
Pro Bowl defensive linemen Sheldon Richardson and Muhammad Wilkerson, linchpins of the Gang Green defense, were on the sideline rather than the field for the first quarter of the team's defeat to the Miami Dolphins.
The reason? They were both benched for being tardy to a team meeting earlier in the week, according to the New York Daily News.
Jets coach Todd Bowles called the move a "coach's decision" following the game. This is the first time Richardson has been disciplined by Bowles, but not Wilkerson.
He was benched for the opening quarter of the Jets' win over the Giants in Week 13 and also was fined.
Wilkerson signed a five-year, $85 million contract in the offseason, but Richardson could be parting ways with New York following the season. His contract expires after the season and his name was floated in trade rumors prior to the deadline.
