Jaguars name Marrone interim coach

The Jacksonville Jaguars have named Doug Marrone the team's interim coach after firing Gus Bradley on Sunday.

Marrone was the assistant head coach and offensive line coach for Jacksonville this season. He coached the Buffalo Bills from 2013-14, compiling a 15-17 record before opting out of his contract.

The Jaguars (2-12) face the Tennesssee Titans (8-6) on Saturday before wrapping up their season at the Indianapolis Colts (7-7).

Giants RB Vereen re-injures triceps

New York Giants running back Shane Vereen re-injured his triceps, coach Ben McAdoo confirmed Monday.

McAdoo said it was too early to tell how long Vereen would be out.

Sproles cleared for return

Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles has been cleared to return for Thursday's game against the New York Giants.

Sproles missed Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens while in the concussion protocol.

Right tackle Lane Johnson will also start in his return from a 10-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
