Being NFL MVP 'feels really good,' Falcons' Matt Ryan says

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan did not get to comment on winning the NFL's Most Valuable Player award Saturday night because he was preparing for the Super Bowl.

But in a Fox pregame show interview recorded before the award was publicly announced, Ryan got an opportunity to address winning it for the first time in his career.

"It feels really good," he said. "I think it’s one of those things, personally, it's very nice to be recognized, but at the end of the day the thing that’s most satisfying for me is winning things as a team."

During the interview, Ryan also recalled being in the crowd for the New England Patriots championship parade after winning the Super Bowl in 2003, when Ryan was a freshman at Boston College.

"It was cool to be in Boston at that time," said Ryan, who grew up outside of Philadelphia. I'd never had an opportunity to go to any championship parade in my life and it was cool. It was really a unique time to be in Boston because the sports were so great."

Ryan is attempting to become the first league MVP to win the Super Bowl in the same year since Kurt Warner in 1999.
