DeAngelo Williams is apparently leaving the gridiron for the ring.
He is expected to participate in Impact Wrestling's Slammiversary in Orlando on July 2, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Williams will tag team with former NFL offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka, whose stage name is "Moose."
An 11-year NFL veteran, Williams, 34, is currently a free agent after spending the last two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 2006 first-round pick and former Pro Bowler has rushed for 8,096 yards in his career, including 6,846 for the Carolina Panthers, the franchise's career record.
