J.J. Watt's Hurricane Harvey fundraising efforts surpass $10 million

The Hurricane Harvey fundraising effort led by Houston Texans star J.J. Watt surpassed $10 million on Thursday, according to the crowdfunding site that is taking the donations.
Watt’s original goal was $200,000 when he announced the YouCaring campaign on Sunday, which included his own $100,000 donation. Talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres and Walmart pledged $1 million on Wednesday, joining other large donations from Tennessee Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk ($1 million) and NBA star Chris Paul ($50,000.)

“I’m going to leave the link open,” Watt said in a video posted to Twitter on Thursday. “We are going to see how high we can get it. I can’t say ‘thank you’ enough.”
There were more than 100,000 donors as of Thursday afternoon, most contributing between $20 and $100 each.
