The New England Patriots’ comeback victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC title game Sunday on CBS was the highest-rated program on TV since last year’s Super Bowl, the network announced on Monday.

The telecast averaged an overnight rating of 27.3 and a 50 share, meaning 50% of the televisions in use during the time slot (3-6:15 p.m. ET) were tuned to the game. The broadcast peaked at a 31.8/54 as the Patriots rallied for a 24-20 victory between 5:30-6 p.m. ET.

The overnight rating just about matched the same broadcast window last year as Fox’s broadcast of Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons had a 27.4 overnight rating.

Fox’s broadcast of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 38-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings resulted in a 24.7 overnight rating, according to Sports Media Watch. That’s down 11% from last year’s conference title game in the same broadcast window (Patriots vs. Steelers on CBS).
