Eagles' Nick Foles rejected trade to become Browns' starter, according to report

The Philadelphia Eagles may have one of the NFL's most valuable trade chips in Super Bowl-winning quarterback Nick Foles.
This offseason, they apparently had the opportunity to cash it in ... but didn't.
According to an NFL.com report, the Cleveland Browns offered the 35th overall pick in this year's draft to the Eagles for Foles. But when they asked the Super Bowl LII MVP about it, he told them he'd rather stay in Philadelphia and back up starter Carson Wentz.
Foles, 29, who took over the starting job when Wentz tore a knee ligament in December, led the team to its first Super Bowl title. In April, the team redid his contract to give him a $2 million bonus and a chance to earn up to $14 million in incentives.
The deal made Foles the NFL's highest-paid backup quarterback.
The Browns eventually went in a different direction in their search for a starter, acquiring veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor from the Buffalo Bills and selecting Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield of Oklahoma with the first overall pick in the draft.
